Charleston Plastic Surgery offers a variety of solutions to help restore the glow of your younger years. We have dermal fillers and Botox as well as chemical peels – however, if you feel that those products are not the solution for your goals, Dr. Harvey is happy to consult for facelift options.
Botox cosmetic is an injectable medication used to treat facial wrinkles, which are caused by the action of the underlying muscles of facial expression. Common areas of the face that are treated with Botox include the glabellar region (between the eyebrows, above the nose), forehead, and “crow’s feet” lines (around the eyes).
Dermal and soft tissue fillers are a great way to restore fullness to the face. These fillers can add more volume and minimize skin lines and wrinkles. The material is injected underneath the skin in the nasolabial fold, marionette lines, and oral commissures, which serves to plump up these areas and smooth out the wrinkles.
Chemical peels are a skin resurfacing technique that may help with uneven skin tone or texture cause by sun damage, age spots, genetics, and hormonal changes. This will help to minimize fine lines and wrinkles. A chemical will be placed on the desired area to penetrate deep into the skin and activate your body’s natural inflammatory response. This will allow the skin to rejuvenate itself and produce more collagen in the area, improving elasticity.
A facelift can firm and lift facial skin and other underlying issues that will ultimately redefine your profile and highlight your strongest features. By lifting deep facial tissue, the removal of excess skin and revamping a jawline to look better defined – you’ll regain that youthful look you’ve been missing. Best of all, you’ll be back to work in after a short time feeling great and looking even better.
It is common to have bruising following a facial procedure. This bruising usually subsides after 10-14 days. It is best to stay out of work for 1 week and not commit to major social engagements for 2-3 weeks. The procedure is not painful. Only your bruising and swelling may prevent you from returning to your normal activities. The doctor will provide you with complimentary products to help prevent and cover up the discoloration from bruising.
