Breast augmentation is a very common surgery which involves the surgical placement of implants to provide a natural enhancement to a woman’s breasts. Implants can increase size, shape, and symmetry of the breasts. This surgery is performed to help provide a woman with the confidence she may lack due to naturally small breasts, asymmetrical breasts, or the loss of breast fullness from pregnancy or weight loss. The surgery is relatively short and is performed on an outpatient basis. With 25 years of experience, Dr. Harvey can help you determine what option is best for you.
Breast augmentation is a very common procedure which causes more tightness in the chest than actual pain. The tightness, caused by muscle spasms, can be easily overcome if you follow our post-operative instructions. Patients tend to be out of work for no more than 1 week. Lifting and certain exercise restrictions will be given for 6 weeks. We ask our patients to wear a molded cup sports bra for 6 weeks and no underwire bras for 1 year.
