When you visit us at Charleston Plastic Surgery, your doctor will evaluate your health and discuss with you what your expectations are. Our doctors will describe to you what alternatives and procedures are available and what the risks and the potential benefits of each may be. Our surgeons will work with you to recommend the procedure that is right for you and will come closest to producing the desired results.

During the consultation, your surgeon will explain the surgical or other procedure, the recovery times involved, where the surgery will be performed, and the costs involved. In some cases, health insurance policies do not cover the costs of cosmetic surgery. You should check your policy to be sure.

Accreditation – The Surgery Center of Charleston is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC) and, earlier, by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Our Operating Rooms meet or exceed the same rigorous standards imposed on major hospitals.

Anesthesia Services – Anesthetics at the Surgery Center are provided by board certified anesthesiologists. They also hold certification in pediatric anesthesia.

Most reconstructive type procedures are covered by insurance according to the details of your plan. This determination is made by your insurance carrier. Cosmetic procedures are not typically covered by insurance.

There is no additional fee for any cosmetic post-op visits relating to the particular procedures performed.
